Abstract:
The modernization of educational governance constitutes an essential component of the broader modernization efforts within the national governance system and its capacity. At its core, this endeavor involves the establishment of a governance system characterized by government responsibility, social coordination, public participation, and legal safeguards. Such a system aims to facilitate co-governance and ensure the effective governance of education. This initiative lays a robust foundation, encompassing systems, principles, and practices, for fostering good citizens in the new era. To advance the cultivation of good citizens in the new era through the modernization of educational governance, it is imperative to consistently uphold the principles of democracy and the rule of law. This includes fostering a spirit of public care within educational administration and emphasizing the cultivation of public spirit. Furthermore, there is a need to bolster rational dialogue and public consultation in educational governance and foster the development of public reason; and to strengthen the core values integral to educational governance and implement public value education. To translate these principles into tangible outcomes, it is vital to promote the construction and implementation of practical mechanisms for educational governance. This involves engaging in public action education, ultimately achieving a more effective realization of the educational mission to cultivate good citizens in the new era.
