Abstract:
The virtual space, which is neither false nor empty, constitutes an integral system together with man, earth and machine. In this system, man is the subject that knows, creates and operates the virtual space, and the virtual man is the main element of the virtual space. The earth, as man’s habitat, is not only the object of virtual space, but also the carrier of virtual geography. Issues about space form, geographical environment, geographical measurement, geographical expression and the relationship between real and virtual geographies are of great theoretical and practical significance to our political and economic realities, as well as to the research and development of science and technology. Machine refers to computer network, which plays an essential role in forming virtual space, a kind of screen space or network space. No computer, no virtual space. As computers become more and more intelligent, robots and electronic men will gradually replace real human beings in virtual space.
