摘要:: 文学典籍《水浒传》的英译研究经过80多年的发展,取得了丰厚的成绩,研究语料由单一到多样,研究模式由单纯的译本文本分析到相关译本文本分析与其翻译环境研究有机结合,研究基调由极端转向客观、辩证; 但同时也存在杰译本、登译本研究不足,多译本对比研究不足,史学研究发展迟缓,原著文体模块翻译系统研究亟需等问题。学者们需树立严谨的学风,加强考据研究方法,系统开展杰译本,登译本研究、国外读者译本评价研究、《水浒传》文体模块翻译研究以及新语境下《水浒传》的复译研究。

Abstract:: Over the past 80 plus years, studies on Chinese to English(C-E)translation of Shui Hu Zhuan have made great achievements. With the help of much more diversified research corpora, research methods have been shifted from textual analysis of English versions to its integration with different translation environments. Also, the tone of studies, rid of extremity, tends to be more objective and dialectical. However, there are some problems deserving our attention. Without sufficient studies on the versions of J. H. Jackson and of John and Alex Dent-Young, as well as comparative studies on other versions, relevant historical studies have developed slowly, and studies on the translation system of Shui Hu Zhuan’s stylistic features are in urgent need. Hence, scholars should take a serious attitude and improve their research methods, so as to systematically examine: the versions of J. H. Jackson and of John and Alex Dent-Young; the evaluations of readers abroad on different versions; the translation system of Shui Hu Zhuan’s stylistic features; and the re-translations of Shui Hu Zhuan against new contexts.
