Title:: Between the Old and the New: An Examination of Xin Zhonghua Bao’s Coverage of Discussions on the “National Form”

摘要:: 《新中华报》创办的多种文艺副刊,系统阐释了“利用旧形式,实现新内容”的重要问题,最先开启了由旧形式到“民族形式”的讨论,并在对陕甘宁边区文化协会第一次代表大会最早传播新民主主义文化的报道中进一步推动了此讨论,该报既为“民族形式”讨论提供了重要的舆论空间,也为研究这一问题保存了重要的报刊史料。以《新中华报》文艺副刊为对象,探究其对“民族形式”报道所阐述的主要观点和发挥的重要作用,对于拓展研究视野、发掘新的史料以阐述马克思主义文艺理论中国化发展进程具有重要的学术价值。

Abstract:: The various literary and artistic supplements founded by Xin zhonghua bao systematically explained the important issue of “using the old form to convey new content”, and were the first to initiate the discussion on how to make the shift from the old form to the “national form”, and furthered this discussion in their coverage of the earliest dissemination of the new democratic culture in the first congress of the Cultural Association of Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region. The newspaper provided an important space for the discussion on the “national form” and has also preserved important historical materials for the study on this issue. Taking the literary and art supplements of Xin zhonghua bao as the object to explore their main views and important roles in the reports on the “national form” is of great significance for expanding the research vision and excavating new historical materials to explain the process of the Sinicization of Marxist literary and art theory.
