- Abstract:
- According to the theoretical logic of Marxism, as a political party of the proletariat, the Communist Party of China (CPC) is an advanced political organization that can deeply grasp the laws of historical development, recognize its own historic mission, and is theoretically conscious. This is the major reason why it can be called a missionoriented political party. Contrary to the fact that the missionoriented political party is equipped with a strong theoretical consciousness, the general public, including the proletariat, are often in a spontaneous state of cognition: they usually just focus on the present state of affairs and are limited in their understanding of the matters, so it is difficult for them to effectively understand social development trends and their own historical role. The relationship between the partys theoretical consciousness and the peoples theoretical spontaneity is in a unity of the opposites: the partys consciousness is necessarily used to guide and enhance the development of the publics spontaneity and there is a tension between them at the same time. Once the party commits mistakes in developing its theoretical consciousness, it will deviate from the peoples position and hurt their interests. To effectively resolve the tension between the peoples spontaneity and the partys consciousness, it is necessary for the CPC to adhere to and develop its mass line on the one hand and to continuously improve the mechanism of democratic system on the other.
