- Oral history of education is the product of the alliance between history of education and historyin general. As an academic practice, the rise of oral history of education is related to the practice turn incontemporary philosophy. Adopting qualitative research methods and taking the memory of people in educationpractice as its main object, oral history of education plays the academic functions of preserving and interpretingthe education history, participating in building a history of education, and constructing the history of publiceducation. Oral history of education has been questioned in practice about its authenticity and reliability ofnarration. Analyzing its validity from such two aspects as false memory and unreliable narration is helpful tobetter understand the feasibility of using oral history of education as a research method.
