Abstract:
The crisis of doctor-patient relationship has been an important issue in the academic circles. Asolution by following the traditional doctor-patient relationship model has been proposed,but its feasibilityremain to be examined. From a socio-psychological perspective,this paper analyzes the differencesbetween traditional and modern medical models concerning mutual choices and interpersonal interactionbetween doctors and patients and shows that the doctor-patient relationship has undergone a change from theinterpersonal relationship to the inter-group one:the intergroup attribute of the relationship between doctors andpatients has been highlighted in the process of social transformation and the reform of medical system. Finally,based on the interpersonal-intergroup change of doctor-patient relationship and the social background in thetransition period,we discuss the practical feasibility of“ following the traditional solution”
