- The biggest challenge imposed by the present era is how to make innovations. In order to meetthe expectation for innovation，higher education institutions are trapped by the competition for scientificresearch with publication of research papers as its major end. As a result，the university is now regarded as aknowledge factory or a scientific research center instead of the center of thoughts. To rebuild higher educationin our era，we must shift our focus from the use of the university to the problems it faces，reiterate the meaningof university systems，rebuild the legitimacy of higher education and hatch new thoughts by ideologicalinnovation.
