- For Lu Xun, the period from 1922 to 1927 was a special life journey. In this period, he wrote “Preface to Nahan(Call to Arms)” in 1922 and “Preface to Yecao(Wild Grass)” in 1927. Lu Xun's life experience during this period is worth studying. “Preface to Nahan” reflects his specific psychological state in 1922 and summarizes his life and creation before that. “Preface to Yecao” expresses his thoughts and feelings in 1927 and looks back on his life and creation during his “period of confusion”. During this period, he gave up his old self and embarked on a difficult exploration of his new self. The changes in his psychology are worthy of study, and the recurring image of “great joy” is the most important keyword in “Preface to Yecao”.
