Abstract:
The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China proposed the establishment of a socialist modernized country, promoting national rejuvenation through a Chinese-style modernization, and emphasized the need to accelerate the construction of Chinese discourse and narrative systems. Currently, Chinese-style educational modernization has achieved remarkable accomplishments, but it does not correspond to its discourse power internationally. In order to better tell the story of Chinese education and promote Chinese education to the world, the construction of a modern discourse system of Chinese-style education is imminent. This paper will attempt to elaborate the construction of a modern discourse system for Chinese-style education from the perspective of the essential characteristics of the discourse system. The construction of such a discourse system is subject to history, has a public character, and is formed in practical interactions. The construction of the discourse system of Chinese-style educational modernization is influenced by the history of China's educational modernization. It must follow a certain value orientation, promote the freedom of human subjects, enable people to achieve free and comprehensive development, and reflect the realistic pursuit of educational practice. Accordingly, the strategy for constructing the discourse system of Chinese-style educational modernization is: to pay attention to the questions of the times; to dispel Western-centrism and critically borrow Western discourse; to embody the interaction between discourse and practice; and to handle the interactive relationship between the narration and the construction of the discourse.
