Abstract:
The inner state of teachers life has a profound impact on their daily work and teaching quality, and also plays a vital role in their professional growth. The “art-based teacher growth model” focuses on the development of teachers inner life, integrates artistic aesthetics and creation into their professional development, and emphasizes their self-reflection, research and growth as experiencers, creators, researchers and educators. Through the integration of experience, creation, reflection, and teaching, and through artistic depiction and interpretation, teachers conduct situational, continuous and creative exploration of education and the relationship between self and education, thus achieving the enhancement of their personal inner state of life, which in turn helps them achieve autonomous, conscious, and creative professional development. The model enriches and enhances teachers life experience and vitality, making “educational appreciation” possible; stimulates their imagination, creating multiple possibilities in education; and explores their artistic potential, allowing them to realize an artistic expression and survival. This model provides a new perspective for teachers professional development, which is conducive to promoting the comprehensive improvement of their literacy and the development of education reform in the new era.
