- During the first two decades(1917—1937), after the emergence of modern Chinese literature, there was a state of “unity” in the relationship between children's literature and modern literature, showing simultaneity of occurrence, homogeneity of “modernity”, and isomorphism of “modern literature” in a holistic form. The research on the “unity” of Chinese children's literature and modern literature needs to construct such a methodology as to take “modernity” as the value yardstick, to carry out the “same” research between children's literature and modern literature instead of “different” researches, and to adopt the interpretative method of “scrutinize”. The academic goal of the “unity” research is to construct a new form of “modern literature” at a higher level and with richer and more complete structure.
