- In the Yuan and Ming dynasties, when elegant culture and popular culture interacted closely, the chuanqi novellas not only maintained the characteristics of the legendary style, but also penetrated into the vernacular novels. This process can be regarded as a typical case of the stylistic fusion of classical Chinese novels and vernacular novels. In this paper, the influence of Yuan-Ming chuanqi novellas on the stylistic formation of vernacular novels is analyzed from the following two aspects: the appearance of chapter titles and the tendency of long-form narratives.
