- Abstract:
- The reports delivered to the 18th and 19th Party Congresses of the CPC both call for“ vigorouslypromoting the construction of ecological civilization” and upgrade the eco-civilization to an important part ofthe Party’s“ five-sphere integrated plan.” This speaks of the CPC’s serious reflection on the ecological crisis, showing profound ethical implications. To explore the ethical implications of the theory of eco-civilization isof great significance for the construction of eco-civilization and the achievement of the“ five-sphere integratedplan.” Previous researches have shown that the ethical implications of the theory of the socialist ecologicalcivilization with Chinese characteristics includes the following aspects:( 1) the pursuit of the ethical goal ofecological equity and harmony(; 2) the adherence to the ethical practice based on a rational ecoolgical progress;(3) the requirement for an ethical choice concerning the ecological responsibility centering on the ecologicalconscience;( 4) the need for the ethical protection based on the ecological justice centering on the ecologicalfreedom.
