- Having the courage to carry out self-targeted revolution and strengthening the party buildingcontinuously are the distinctive characters and unique advantages possessed by the Marxist political party ingeneral and the CPC in particular. Since the 18th CPC National Congress in 2012, the CPC Central Committeewith Xi Jinping as its core has reflected on its experience in party building and grasped the laws of scientificgovernance in order to secure a decisive victory in building a moderately prosperous society in all respects andstrive for the great success of socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era. Proceeding from the greatstruggle, great cause and great dream formulated by its central leadership, the CPC has constructed a set of newthoughts on party building for a new era by taking into consideration the challenges and risks it faces and thesupport it can be given by the people. The historical contribution made by Xi Jinping Thought on Party Buildingfor a New Era lies in its setting up new orientations, new objectives and new requirements for party building andin particular in its emphasis on coordinating the overall social development, deciding on the orientation of theparty’s leadership, strengthening the public support, rallying the positive forces of the times, having the courageto carry out self-targeted reform and fully understanding that the strict and comprehensive self-governance overthe Party is a journey to which there’s no end. Therefore, a new level has been achieved in building the CPCinto a Marxist governing party.
