Abstract:: Socialist political economy with Chinese characteristics is the important theoretical achievement ofthe contemporary Chinese Marxism. Resulting from the CPC’s practices based on China’s national conditionssince reform and opening up，this great contribution to the Marxist theory of economy reveals the newcharacteristics and rules of our economic development. There are five principles of socialist political economywith Chinese characteristics，specifically，centering on the masses；liberating and developing productiveforces；giving public ownership a dominant role and pursuing common prosperity；implementing the reform ofsocialist market economy；and carrying out the policy of opening up. Furthermore，the spirit and inner logic ofthe socialist political economy with Chinese characteristics to explore the economic law and development pathfor China can be seen from such aspects as the standpoint of research，the characteristics of the system and thepath of development.
