Abstract:: Marx did scientific researches on social organism from three such dimensions：social object，social subject and social development. On this basis，he used totality as the fundamental method to studysocial organism. He deeply revealed the essence，characteristics and law of social organism from the followingaspects：specific totality，contradictory totality and historical totality. As a special and specific organism，socialism with Chinese characteristics undoubtedly has the traits shared by all organisms. To further deepenreform comprehensively in China today must rely on people’s joint efforts and accord with the essential traitsand operation laws of a social organism.
