Title:: Community Construction in the Course of Urbanization:An Investigation Based on the Urbanization of S Village in NJ City

Abstract:: Through analyzing the data from the new residential community S in Xianlin College Town of Nanjing, we identified a mode of community governance formed in the process of its urbanization, which is characterized by building a new type of networked community on the basis of its previous acquaintance society. The case study, though limited in its scope, enables us to realize that the construction of newly urbanized communities should take people’s livelihood and development as its priority and help citizens in these communities successfully adjust their values and life style. That is to say, the key to a successful urbanization lies in always putting people first in practice and fully understanding in theory that the essence of urbanization is to help people live a new type of decent urban life.
