Title:: Insurance Industry’s Inclusive Growth and Consumer Rights Protection

Abstract:: The inclusive growth of insurance industry refers to a balanced, harmonious and sustainable growth, which is actually a kind of unified growth of social and economic developments. Insurance consumers’ rights and interests can be effectively protected when an inclusive growth is achieved in insurance industry. In this paper, we attempt to describe and explain the development of the insurance industry in China and the status of the existing practices against the interests of insurance consumers. We have found that the underlying cause for the infringements of insurance consumers’ rights is due to inadequate regulation and supervision over the industry. In the light of foreign experience and the reality of our country’s insurance industry, we put forward policy solutions to strengthen the protection of insurance consumers’ rights and interests and to promote the inclusive growth of China’s insurance industry.
