- Abstract:
- Semantic field is a relational and meaningful space composed of symbols, images, signals, signs and other linguistic elements. In the semantic field of capitalism, signs have replaced theology, rationalism, and humanism as the new “illuminating light” that controls people's daily lives. Some Western media deliberately demonize the image of Chinese companies with false accusations such as “plundering of resources” and “lack of environmental awareness”, leading to the failure of some Chinese projects in the overseas markets. The semantic field of the “Belt and Road Initiative” is a major measure to decipher the semantic field of signs. The approach to the construction of the “Belt and Road” semantic field is to use a trustworthy, lovable and respectable image of China to show a better life world in the future; to employ monumental Chinese symbols to express the meaning of a better life world; to express the world of a better life in artistic Chinese language; and to use accurate Chinese signs to convey the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind.
