- Abstract:
- Louise Labe was a famous France poetess of Lyon in the Renaissance Period. Her poems reflect thevarious trends of thought popular in Lyon in the sixteenth Century. This paper attempts to analyze her poetryfrom an intertextual perspective and to find the meaning of multiple voices in her poetry through the full rangeof interpretation. Love is the main theme of her poetry, but the materials used to construct the textual space inher poetry are varied, including the ancient Greek and Roman culture, medieval cavalier literature,Platonismand Petrarquisme. These intertextual texts constitute Louise Labe’s poetic space, opening up to readers thesociety of Lyon in the sixteenth Century by the text.
