Abstract:
The construction and improvement of the system of institutions through which the people run the country is a major theoretical and practical issue closely related to China's comprehensive modernization. Providing a comprehensive explanation of the operational logic of this system and outlining the process of its construction is the primary task in opening up new frontiers for people's democracy. In the practice of the Communist Party of China's exploration of people's democracy, the system of institutions through which the people run the country demonstrates four unique advantages: the organic integration of the CPC leadership and the people's role; of basic institutional stability and specific institutional openness; of cultural cultivation and discourse innovation; and of Chinese institutions and the Chinese approach. Currently, the system of institutions through which the people run the country faces diverse challenges in terms of systematic governance, law-based governance, comprehensive governance, and source governance. Based on a comprehensive understanding of the overall development of the system of people's democracy, concrete institutional reform is considered a key focus, with the aim of providing meaningful insights for the future development of Chinese path to modernization.
