Abstract:
The founding of the CPC in 1921 marked the beginning of the process of Chinese path to modernization for more than 100 years. Since then, the modernization process of China has been intrinsically linked with Marxism. The reason for this is that the spatiotemporal circumstances of world history and the unique national conditions of China since modern times have determined that China's modernization endeavor must be built on the thorough transformation of its previous modes of production and social systems, and it must adopt the orientation proceeding from the New Democratic Revolution to the Socialist Revolution. From the perspective of “the Great Historical View” of the transformation from national history to world history, Chinese path to modernization is generally an important part of the process of world modernization, and its development has historical and logical inevitability. Different from the Western modernization, Chinese path to modernization is a type of modernization that Chinese people, under the leadership of the CPC, have selected and explored according to China's own conditions and by critically absorbing the contemporary western modernization ideological resources as well as Marxist critical thoughts on modernity, world history, and eastern societies. Therefore, it not only has the common characteristics of modernization in various countries, but also has Chinese characteristics based on its own national conditions. Chinese path to modernization not only enriches the specific contents of Marxist critical thoughts on modernity, world history and eastern societies, but also opens up and creates a “new form of human civilization”.
