Abstract:: Conforming to the historical trend of “the age of material abundance”, China's moral education should strive to enhance the quality of its content and form. On the one hand, we should strengthen the education of basic morality, democracy, rule of law, and community of shared future for mankind, so as to construct a moral education content system that meets the needs of the new era. On the other hand, we should make China's moral education professional, prudent, and pleasant so as to achieve a historic transformation in its form. The discussion on the construction of moral education responding to the needs for a better life in this paper is essentially an important attempt to sketch the overall picture of the development of moral education in China in the new era.
