Abstract:
Discipline governance, as a tool for good governance to shape the life of individual discipline and the whole disciplinary ecosystem in the new era, is the essence of promoting the construction of world-class universities and disciplines with high quality. In practice, under the two-way effect of knowledge planning and disciplinary power, the “use” of tools has become the value preference of discipline governance, and it is easy to fall into the value crisis caused by instrumentalism. The academic governance should follow the value logic of pursuing “goodness” as its ultimate concern, and based on public rationality and nourished by the order logic characterized by the value for goodness, it should clarify such issues related to values and interests as the management ideology, subjectivity, life process and normativity, and effectively release the energy of value of justice in the goodness embedded in the “ends” as well as in the “means”. To be specific, it should highlight the value for goodness in promoting the modernization of discipline governance system and governance capacity, promoting the value for goodness in the interaction involving innovation-driven development and cooperation, and realizing the value for goodness in discipline-based talent cultivation and education reform, thus helping the discipline governance form a new development pattern.
