Abstract:
In Chinese society, where great emphasis is placed on saving face, people always try to present their best selves in the “front stage” of social life so as to create a good external image of themselves, while the acts that really indicate their physical and mental freedom are placed in the “back stage”. In the era of smart media, the rapid development of big data mining and integration capabilities and the spread of artificial intelligence technologies have gradually dissolved the boundary between the public and private spheres, and the distinction between the “front stage” and the “back stage” has become very blurred. Intelligent communication technologies continue to invade the “back stage” of citizens' life, exposing them to a variety of possible harms to their privacy and thus endangering their dignity. Only through a combination of measures to ensure that citizens' privacy is effectively protected can people live a life with more dignity.
