Abstract:
In order to promote the development of education, the educators in China before 1949 interacted and cooperated with each other frequently. They not only supported each other on the public education affairs, but also helped each other in daily life, thus maintaining close interpersonal relationship. A wide and complex educational communication network had thus been built. On the whole, the relationship between them was based on three types of foundation:i. e. they developed good relationship with each other due to shared geopolitical, scholastic, or professional common grounds. Compared with geopolitical and scholastic common ground-based relationships, the relationship based on common educational interests and ambitions was more durable. Another characteristic of the interaction between those educators is that the communication network they built was open and inclusive. What’s more, with the transformation of society and the development of education, the factors sustaining the relationship between them gradually changed from geopolitical closeness to shared educational interests and ambitions, the relationship based on which became an important way for them to accumulate academic capital.
