Abstract:
China is in the crucial new era of successfully constructing a better-off society and furtherbuilding a great modern socialist country in a comprehensive way. In this period, the education calls fornew development so that it is meaningful to establish educational development indicators which are precise,reasonable and inherently coherent. Since the reform and opening-up, the educational development indicatorshave gradually received more attention and are now in the process of continuous construction. The set ofindicators on China’s education, which have been basically established, have played a significant role ineducational development in our country. However, they are problematic and inadequate to some extent, whichcannot be ignored. For the future construction of educational indicators, it is essential to embrace the newidea of further implementing reform in education by learning from the advanced experience of other countries. The OECD educational indicators, in this respect, provide a good reference for the future construction ofeducational indicators in our country.
