Abstract:: Encouraging progress and achievements have been made in the research on teacher educationpolicy since the reform and opening-up in China’s mainland. The quantity of such research is increasinggradually；topics are becoming abundant；perspectives are being diversified；multiple methods have been used.Broad fields remain to be explored in the future. Research on basic theories should be emphasized；scientificand rigorous research on policy process should be enhanced；multidisciplinary perspectives of research shouldbe enriched；and studies on the policy and practice of teacher education in the view of the theory of NewEducation Equity & Justice should be strengthened.Then policy research will play valuable，responsible andconsultant roles in making realistic policy decision on the reform and development of teacher education.
