Abstract:
Encouraging progress and achievements have been made in the research on teacher educationpolicy since the reform and opening-up in China’s mainland. The quantity of such research is increasinggradually;topics are becoming abundant;perspectives are being diversified;multiple methods have been used.Broad fields remain to be explored in the future. Research on basic theories should be emphasized;scientificand rigorous research on policy process should be enhanced;multidisciplinary perspectives of research shouldbe enriched;and studies on the policy and practice of teacher education in the view of the theory of NewEducation Equity & Justice should be strengthened.Then policy research will play valuable,responsible andconsultant roles in making realistic policy decision on the reform and development of teacher education.
