Abstract:
Since the reform and opening-up, a series of laws and regulations on family education have been enacted. The legislation of family education in China has undergone five stages: vague interpretation, clear stipulation, systematic planning, specialization and socialization. This paper elaborates on the content of these laws and regulations, and systematically analyzes indispensable factors as well as resistance factors in the legislation process. On this basis, it gives suggestions on the enactment of family education law in China. Our stereotypical ideas must be changed by transferring family education from the private sphere to the public one. Based on our social conventions, we should make family education law with Chinese characteristics, targeting realistic problems in family life. More attention to the disadvantaged is needed to ensure the fairness of our family education law.
