Abstract:
The fairness in urban and rural ecological affairs in a post-industrial society is based on a new type of cooperation and moral institutions formed in such social conditions where competition is required to be subject to cooperation, legal institutions to moral ones, and capital to ecological benefits. The achievement of such type of fairness has to undergo a long and complex historical process, in which human beings have to develop a strong awareness of the significance of ecological fairness. Now human society as a whole is beginning to enter its post-industrial era, but the contemporary China is in a special historical stage characterized by a combination of industrial and post-industrial features. Against such a background, the key to achieving ecological fairness is to make scientific decisions based on the harmony between man and nature to resolve the ecological conflicts and construct a new type of cooperation on ecological issues between urban and rural areas.
