- The modernization of Chinese-style education is the key component and important symbol of Chinese-style modernization, and is also an important means, path and link to realize Chinese-style modernization. Exploring its value orientation is not only essential for deeply understanding the connotations of Chinese-style educational modernization and thereby innovating theoretical frameworks, but also vital for clarifying the main tasks of education reform in China for a considerable period in the future. This understanding can facilitate the conduct of scientific, rational, policy-relevant, and practically significant empirical research, ultimately providing important guidance for the specific development of Chinese-style educational modernization. This paper first reviews the relevant background and current research on Chinese-style educational modernization. It then explains the connotative characteristics of Chinese-style educational modernization from both universal and particular perspectives. Based on this, it proposes a value orientation of Chinese-style educational modernization with the promotion and realization of human modernization as the core, supported by the following three basic points: firm political stance and belief; advanced technological innovation literacy and capability; and the responsibility and commitment to national rejuvenation. Finally, the paper offers several reflections on further understanding and promoting Chinese-style educational modernization based on this value orientation.
