Abstract:: The real confidence in the path to socialism with Chinese characteristics is the inevitable outcome of lessons learned from the exploration of China’s socialism. It is also the inexorable requirements in line with the theoretical features of scientific socialism. More importantly, it is the desirability of further advancement of the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics. Today’s world is characterized by increasingly diversified ideological trends, and the new-left thought is now affecting people’s self-confidence in the path to socialism with Chinese characteristics. To be exact, it has caused a lot of confusions, thus exerting great negative effects on our self-confidence in the path to socialism with Chinese characteristics. Therefore, we should expose the true face of the new-left thought through examining its misleading understanding of social institutions and agendas as well its distorted outlook on history. In so doing, we can enhance people’s confidence in the path to socialism with Chinese characteristics in an effort to restore consensus, form concerted forces, lead the public opinion, strengthen people’s support and improve our administrative capacity.
